Toyota Tundras Recalled to Fix Turn Signals

by Publisher / Tuesday, 28 July 2020 / Published in Margarian Law News, News
Toyota Tundras

A total of 183,397 2018 through 2020 Toyota Tundras built between February 22, 2017, and May 29, 2020, are being recalled because their front turn signals may not be bright enough for other drivers to see. The issue is confined to vehicles with LED headlight assemblies. The lights were incorrectly wired during assembly due to faulty instructions, Toyota said.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, If the turn signals or hazard lamps do not flash brightly enough, other drivers may fail to see that the turn signal or hazard lamp functions have been activated, increasing the risk of a crash.

Toyota will send letters to all owners of affected vehicles, and Toyota dealers will modify the wire harness connected to the front turn signal bulbs free of charge so that the turn signals are bright enough to meet federal standards for visibility. This recall is expected to begin by September 13, 2020.

Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-270-9371.

Toyota’s number for this recall is 20TB12/20TA12.

Check NHTSA’s website to see whether your vehicle has an open recall.
